I’m lacking inspiration.

Inspiration to create, to write, to grow, to succeed.

I’ve lost the spark in my eye, the smile that warms the hearts of many, the voice that inspires, the ears that listen intently, the mindset to do, and the heart to pursue.

You ever have those days or periods of time where that motivation is at an all time low and you lack the effort and inspiration for the things you love? You don’t want to attend work or tend to the magnitude of responsibilities that is life.

Yeah, I’m currently in that state. But I’m definitely getting over it as I realize that life is too short to be feeling anything but motivated, inspired, and alive.

Everyday is a new day where you get to CHOOSE what kind of a day you have, regardless of what the day has to offer.  In life you are given the good and the bad. Both inevitable. What you do with those things is up to you. How you react to certain situations is all up to you. You see, you are given the opportunity to grow everyday. The things you go through in life – the good and the bad – make you who you are. It shapes you into the person you are today. Every person you encounter in this rigid path of life, plays some sort of role, whether it be big or small, good or bad. Some of these people may come as blessings in disguise or as life lessons. Cherish them either way.

The struggles that we deal with on a regular basis can sometimes be a little overbearing. Everyone struggles with hardships. The one that deals with these hardships with patience and faith is truly a survivor. As it states in the Qur’an, to the closest narration, “Allah does not burden a soul more than it can bare…” – 2:286. This verse has always been such a powerful truth that puts my trials and tribulations into perspective. It helps me see the bigger picture because it’s quite easy to get overwhelmed and consumed by these things. The realization that I will never go through anything that I can’t handle puts me at ease. You are bigger and far mightier than the things life throws at you. Your struggles and hardships are but mere obstacles preparing you for greater things. So never think of them as a burden, rather life lessons that make you stronger.

For me, I have many internal struggles. Quite often I question my ability to do things. Perfection within myself is the biggest area that I have to constantly work at everyday. You see, I am a perfectionist and expect nothing but perfection from myself. I am aware that perfection does not exist. It only exists due to the insecurities within myself. Individuals like myself try to strive for something that doesn’t, and never will, exist. It’s a disease that has taken over the minds of many and sets one up for failure. There’s nothing wrong with perfection when it comes to doing things, as long as you remember that even if something doesn’t go as planned, that you still tried your best.

They say, “you’re your own worst critic.” Why do we beat ourselves up for things that aren’t in our control? Why do we expect so much from ourselves? After all, you’re doing your absolute best. Sometimes all it takes is learning about the things that constantly consume your mind and altering your thoughts on them. It may take awhile to fully accept that you’re not perfect, but that’s okay. We learn as we grow. So quit stressing about the small stuff and start living your life to the best of your ability! Start focusing on what truly matters 🙂

Change the way you THINK and accept that which you cannot. It just goes to show that not only what you feed your body has a major impact on you, but your thoughts and attitude as well. Keep it positive, no matter how difficult it may be.

So, what’s it going to be? Are you going to let your struggles define you or are you going to conquer them? YOU decide.

P.S. Anything you set your mind to, you can do! Nothing is impossible. In fact the very word impossible has the word possible in it. Therefore, give it your all and don’t sweat the small stuff!

It’s 3 am and this girl should get to bed now. Until next time! Sweet dreams of baby kitties ♥
